The Living Roof House

by Studio Verde

A low residential house with a sedum-planted roof blending into the landscape

The planting on a living roof is only ever as good as the structural decisions made before a single sedum plug goes in — waterproofing detail, drainage slope, and soil depth all have to be resolved first. What makes this house worth studying is that those decisions were made as part of the architecture, not bolted on after the building was designed.
